Flowering Fendler Framed Canvas


Soft vibrant magenta cactus flowers stand in stark contrast to the green and yellow needles of this flowering Fendler Cactus that I discovered on a hike to Gold King Mansion a huge, once-was luxury home currently decaying away in Mohave County, Arizona.

All limited edition art prints are done in house and framed in hand made oak and walnut frames stained specifically to enhance the print that it frames.

The walnut in the frame is stained black to emphasize the separation of the different wood textures and give it a nice accent. It also separates the canvas print from the frame for the floating canvas print style.

The canvas it's self is treated with an ultra-violet blocking varnish before its wrapped. This prevents UV rays from fading and discoloring the canvas print over time.

Soft purple flowers grace this blooming Hedgehog cactus. What I enjoy about this wall art piece is all the contrasting ideas taking place. Soft cactus flowers offer a counterpoint to the sharpness of the ever present needles, purple magenta colors of the flowers contrast the green of the cactus body as well as the yellow pistil (the center of the flower) and the postive/negative spaces as the eye wanders up and through the image.
